Program Overview

A look at how the Sahwah Hifz Summer 2026 program is structured, week by week.

1

Pre-testing

May 31 & June 1

Every child is assessed in person before the program begins, so we can place them appropriately. The goal is for each child to gain maximum benefit without being overwhelmed.

2

Week 1 — Tajwid Masterclass

June 8 – 11

Mastery of the Tajweed rules and revision of basic surahs your child has already memorized. Taught by Ust. Muhammad Umar Mustafa.

3

Weeks 2 through 6 — Recitation & Memorization

June 15 – July 16

Perfection of recitation of the Mushaf with proper Tajweed rules, memorization of new surahs from Juz Amma, and constant revision to ensure retention of memorized surahs. Taught by Shaykh Abdullah Syed.

4

Post-Summer Parent-Teacher Conferences

July 20 – 24

A discussion with parents, teacher, and student about achievements and goals for the rest of the summer and the upcoming academic year. Children receive a certificate of completion during this week.

5

Lectures woven throughout the program

Brief moments of instruction from the teachers and teaching assistants across the six weeks, covering:

  • Islamic character building (Akhlaq)
  • Basic Aqaid (Islamic creed)
  • Reviewing basic Arabic vocabulary found in the Qur'an
  • The meaning of what your child recites in their Salah
6
